Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Activities at Mercedes Benz-Türk

In this presentation, I will begin by introducing Mercedes-Benz Türk A.Ş. as a workplace and providing an overview of the company. I will then give a brief explanation of what it means to work as a CAE Engineer at Mercedes-Benz Türk A.Ş. After that, I will outline the organizational structure involved in truck production and explain where my role fits within this production chain. Finally, I will present an example of an R&D activity to illustrate our engineering work in practice.

Halil İbrahim Sözen is a materials scientist and mechanical engineer. He completed his PhD in 2019 and subsequently worked for two years at the Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung, focusing on atomistic modeling of rare-earth-free permanent magnetic materials. He then continued his academic career at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, where he spent two years designing bifunctional electrocatalyst materials based on Pt-Ir systems. Since 2023, he has been working as a Senior CAE Engineer in the Truck R&D Department of Mercedes Benz-Türk A.Ş. in Istanbul.
