AU Students Win Innovation Corner at MAINTCON 2022 in Bahrain

Four students from the Petroleum Engineering Department at the Australian University (AU) were among the winners of the Innovation Corner of the Maintenance Reliability and Asset Management Conference – MAINTCON 2022.  

MAINTCON 2022 was organized by the Gulf Society for Maintenance and Reliability in association with the Bahrain Society of Engineers and was held in Bahrain under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mohammed Bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil & Environment of the Kingdom of Bahrain.  The competition is considered one of the largest gatherings for Maintenance and Reliability professionals in the world and was held this year under the theme of “Industry 4.0, Industrial Innovation & Technologies with Global Shift Towards Digitalization”. 

The event featured participation from both AU students and faculty, with a group of four students being selected among the winners of the Innovation Corner. The group of winning students consisted of Abrar Ben Hussain, Nadeen Al Otaibi, Taiyeba Alamgir, and Noor Al Haddad, and the group was under the supervision of Dr. Rana Malhas, Assistant Professor of Petroleum Engineering at AU. Aside from the winning group, there was further participation at the conference by AU, with Assistant Professor of Petroleum Engineering at AU Dr. Suad Al Radhwan serving as the Chairman of the Innovation Corner Committee. 

AU would like to thank the organizers of MAINTCON for providing a great opportunity for its students and faculty to showcase their work and network with other participants and experts during the conference, and to congratulate its students for their hard work and success during the Innovation Corner.
