As part of the Australian University’s (AU) commitment to providing students with real-world educational opportunities, students from the Aviation Academic Programs participated in an educational field trip to Kuwait Airways Cargo. During the visit, the students explored several key operational areas, connecting their theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.
Mr. Amr Afifi Amer, Kuwait Airways Coordinator of Administration Services – Cargo Operations, noted on behalf of Kuwait Airways Air Cargo Operations upon completion of the visit:
“We would like to inform you that the field visit for the Australian University students was successfully completed. The visit included a tour of the cargo warehouses (export, import, transit, and perishable goods), in addition to the counter, administrative offices, and the operations shift. During the visit, the students learned about the nature of operational work in the air cargo sector.”
The visit was organized and led by Dr. Cengiz Kerem Kutahya, Trainer in Logistics, and Ms. Mariam Dahibish, Aviation Academic Aviation Officer, from the Aviation Academic Programs at AU, in collaboration with Kuwait Airways Cargo. Both coordinators emphasized the importance of connecting academic learning with real-world industry exposure to prepare students for future careers in the logistics and aviation sectors.
During the visit, Dr. Kutahya guided the students through each section, explaining how the course topics are applied in real-world cargo operations.
Dr. Kutahya also highlighted that building strong relationships with the industry further strengthens the university’s academic programs and enhances its visibility. He emphasized that such activities play a vital role in promoting university–industry collaboration, which is essential for aligning education with the evolving needs of the aviation and logistics sectors.
