AU students achieved third place in the Huawei Regional Final Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Competition 2023/2024.
The Huawei ICT competition kicked off with two preliminary rounds, engaging participants from over a quarter of a million students across various countries. These participants showcased their skills in three challenge tracks: Computing, Networking and Cloud. The winning students then qualified to the Regional Final Competition which was held in Bahrain.
Representing Kuwait, AU students Otman Muzher, Faisal Alnwayem, and Haya Mansour, guided by Mr. Mohamed Zaki, Senior Instructor of Industrial Practice in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department at AU, demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication. At the conclusion of the competition, the AU team secured an impressive third place in the Networking Challenge, competing with 63 participants from 11 countries in the Middle East and Central Asia.
In addition to the achievements, Huawei honored AU with the Best Academy Award for the fifth consecutive year. This recognition not only celebrates individual and team accomplishments but also underscores AU’s enduring commitment, led by the Management, to excel academically in both local and regional competitions.
