In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan and in line with its commitment to corporate social responsibility, The Australian University (AU) continued its annual tradition of giving back to the community by organizing its annual Ramadan Meal Distribution Drive.
The distribution drive brought together AU staff members and students as volunteers to distribute meals to underprivileged individuals and families in areas with a higher population of laborers. Through such initiatives, AU aims to instill in its students the values of empathy, social responsibility, and the importance of giving back to the community. By actively participating in volunteer work, students develop a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by others and the impact of even the smallest acts of kindness. AU believes that fostering a culture of compassion and service among its students helps shape them into responsible and socially conscious individuals who will continue to make a difference beyond their university years.
Commenting on the initiative, Ms. May Al Musallam, Senior Manager of Public Relations and Marketing at AU, said: “This annual initiative is a cornerstone of AU’s dedication to community engagement and social good. It reflects our values of compassion, unity and generosity. We hope it brings comfort and strengthens the spirit of togetherness during this holy month.”.
