AU Hosts Women in Tech Hackathon in Collaboration with Zain Kuwait

The Australian University (AU), through its Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), in partnership with Zain Kuwait, successfully hosted the Women in Tech (WiT) Hackathon on 7-8 October 2026, bringing together 30 female students from across all majors for two days of interactive workshops and industry-led sessions.

The program aimed to empower participants and broaden their understanding of the evolving technology sector through interactive sessions led by Zain professionals from different technical fields. Participants explored a range of topics, including innovation and entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, data science, network engineering, enterprise risk management, and cloud infrastructure and database systems, while gaining insights into the technologies and skills shaping today’s workforce.

This event marked the first phase of an ongoing collaboration between AU and Zain Kuwait under the Women in Tech (WiT) initiative, with additional activities and opportunities planned in the near future. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the participating speakers in recognition of their valuable contributions.

The high level of student engagement and interaction with Zain speakers throughout the sessions highlighted the success of the event and reflected the shared commitment of AU and Zain Kuwait to supporting and empowering the next generation of women in technology.
