The Australian University (AU) recently hosted its fifth annual Teaching and Learning Center Forum under the title of “Holistic Approach Towards Teaching & Learning: Pedagogical Explorations.” This event aimed to elevate the standards of education in Kuwait’s schools and universities and provided a platform to explore methods for bridging the gap between the education sector and the labor market. The forum featured a variety of activities designed to foster discussion and increase participation, including various keynote speeches, workshops, and discussion panels.
The Forum also included a students’ project exhibition where students from the College of Business presented their project ideas. The best three projects were chosen by esteemed judges and participating students were awarded for their efforts.
In his opening speech, Prof. Isam Zabalawi, President of AU, highlighted student engagement and well-being as the cornerstones for maximizing the effectiveness of the educational experience. He discussed their positive impact on both the professional labor force and the overall success of educational institutions. He further elaborated on the university’s continuous efforts to bring initiatives that contribute to students, faculty, and staff well-being as well as building an inclusive and engaging environment that unlocks human potential in achieving excellence in teaching, learning, and research.
Ms. Rola Mourdaa, Manager of the Teaching and Learning Center at AU, highlighted the impact of education in cultivating developed countries, and she further explored the key role played by governments, parents, students, and educational institutions in utilizing technology and research, along with proper mentoring and mentoring and learning techniques to develop an effective and sustainable educational experience.
