The Australian University proudly hosted its annual staff dinner on the 12th of November 2025, bringing together faculty members and staff members from across all colleges and departments for a night of celebration, recognition, and community building. This annual dinner serves as a foundation of AU’s organizational culture honoring those whose dedication, talent, and collaboration drive the university forward year after year.
This year’s annual dinner featured a series of engaging team-building activities designed to strengthen communication, foster collaboration, and reinforce the shared mission and values that unite members of the university community.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Long Service Awards, awarded by AU President, Professor Isam Zabalawi alongside the Human Resources leadership team, Mrs. Sondos Al Haddad, Senior Manager of Human Resources, and Mrs. Dalal Dawwas, Senior Manager of Employee Relations. These awards honored staff members whose years of service, loyalty, and exceptional contribution left a lasting impact on the university community. It is also worth mentioning that nearly 70% of AU staff members have served the university for over five years, which stands as a testament to AU’s ongoing efforts to invest in people and create an environment where they feel valued, supported and motivated to build long-term careers.
Equally inspiring was the recognition of our outstanding faculty members through the Teaching and Learning Excellence Awards. These awards celebrate excellence in pedagogy, innovation in the classroom, and a deep dedication to student success.
Commenting on the event, Ms. Dalal Dawwas, Senior Manager of Employee Relations, said: ““Our annual staff dinner is more than a tradition it is a moment to pause, appreciate, and celebrate the people who shape the Australian University every day. It reflects our shared values, recognizes the hard work and dedication of every staff member, and strengthens the sense of community that makes our university thrive.”
