Australian University’s (AU) Diploma of Accounting program aims to embed specialized knowledge and skills in accounting for students enrolled in this major. Accounting plays a significant role in economic decision-making, and directly contributes in evaluating the strength of the economic and development process.
Students have to complete 60 CH in two years to acquire the Diploma of Accounting. The proposed program is designed in alignment with CQ University requirements.
Program Objectives and Learning Outcomes
By the end of the Diploma of Accounting program, graduates will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the basic theories, principles and processes involved in various functional areas in accounting.
- Complete the accounting cycle and create and analyze financial statements to ensure that they are accurate and comply with IFRS.
- Explain the key issues of internal control of cash in balance and cash flow statements and external financial reporting.
- Create, organize, and maintain financial records.
- Demonstrate how to assess financial operations and make best-practices recommendations to management.
By successful completion of the program, graduates will develop skills and competence in:
- Critically apply broad theoretical and technical accounting, finance, economic and management knowledge, and skills to inform financial control and budgeting.
- Analyze accounting practices and decisions using theoretical and technical knowledge of regulatory, governance, compliance and legal requirements.
- Apply theoretical knowledge, technical competencies, and critical judgement to provide solutions to routine accounting, financial control, and budgeting problems.
- Explain the impact of socially responsible, ethical, economic, regulatory, sustainability, governance and global perspectives on accounting planning and practices.
- Use computer-based information systems or applications to solve or document business problems.

Entry Requirements
Requirements for Entry
Applicants to the College of Business’s 2-year diploma programs need a minimum high school average of 50% (Government and Arabic private school graduates) or a GPA of 1.50 (other systems), from the Science or Literature stream.
Required documents include the High School Certificate or Transcript (with an Equivalency Letter for foreign or private-school graduates), a valid passport and Civil ID copy, one 4×6 photograph, and proof of English proficiency via AU’s Placement Test (KD25 fee) or an accepted IELTS/TOEFL score.

Australian University’s (AU) Bachelor of Banking and Finance program aims to embed specialized knowledge and skills in finance for students enrolled in this major. Funding is the core of any project; therefore, the Finance and Banking major has a significant role in achieving the organization’s goals.
The students have to complete 120 CH in four years to acquire the Bachelor of Banking and Finance. The proposed program is designed in alignment with CQ University requirements.
Program Objectives and Learning Outcomes
By the end of the Bachelor of Banking and Finance program, graduates will be able to:
- An understanding of the role of financial management in business firms and the essentials of corporate finance. Finance graduates should be able to apply the concept and mechanics of the time value of money, apply capital budgeting techniques, and apply the theory of capital structure to assess a firm’s leverage and the cost of capital.
- An understanding of the operation of security markets and the roles played by businesses and individual investors. Finance graduates should be able to apply valuation models to estimate the price of financial assets, measure risk and describe the risk-return tradeoff as expressed by the Capital Asset Pricing Model.
- An understanding of financial markets and institutions and their roles in businesses.
- An understanding of international financial management and risks involved in global business. Finance graduates should be able to apply different instruments to deal with exchange risk and markets imperfections while maximizing benefits from expanding to global markets.
By successful completion of the program, graduates will develop skills and competence in:
