Mr. Mohamed El-Shareef joined KIB as General Manager of the Digital Transformation and Innovation Department, responsible for developing and promoting digital banking services and products.

Mr. Mohamed El-Shareef has executive experience that extends to more than 20 years in the banking field and financial services, he worked in many different leadership positions in the most famous Kuwaiti banks by joining the Marketing Department of Consumer Banking Group at NBK – Management Information Systems in 2001, then he assumed the role of Senior Manager in 2007, then Executive Director in 2009. After that, he held several administrative positions related to strategic projects and planning at Boubyan Bank through his role as Assistant General Manager for three years, from which he moved on to join Warba Bank in 2015 as Chief Digital Officer achieving many accomplishments for the bank through his strategic and digital role that covered developing digital products, leading digital marketing, evolving data analytics and rolling out data scientists practices.

Mr. Mohamed El-Shareef graduated with a master’s degree in information systems management, from the University of Atlanta, Alabama, in the United States of America in 2001, earning his bachelor’s in electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Turkey in 1999. He has also undergone several leadership courses, including a six-month Executive Leadership Program with “McKinsey & Company” in 2013 and an Executive Leadership Program at the University of Chicago Booth in 2017. He also holds a certificate of Certified Professional Project Management Manager in 2008.
