The Australian University (AU) hosted a signing ceremony at the AU Boardroom to mark the renewal of its strategic partnership with Central Queensland University (CQU). The event was attended by senior representatives from both institutions, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration across academic and research domains.
Professor Isam Zabalawi, President of AU, and Professor Grant Stanley, Vice-President Research at CQU, represented their respective institutions during the signing, reaffirming the long-standing relationship between the universities and their dedication to advancing joint initiatives.
The renewal forms part of CQU’s annual visit to AU, aimed at supporting joint initiatives in academic affairs, research cooperation, student engagement, administrative development, and cultural exchange. During the visit, both institutions held discussions to further advance ongoing projects, including the work of the long-standing AU–CQU Joint Research Committee.
The new agreement extends the partnership for an additional five years, until November 2030. The strategic relationship between AU and CQU dates back to 2012 and was formalized in 2015, evolving over the past decade into a comprehensive framework for collaboration. The current agreement was officially renewed in June 2025 by Professor Nick Klomp, Vice-Chancellor and President of CQU, and Professor Grant Stanley.
Through this renewed partnership, AU and CQU reaffirm their commitment to enhancing educational quality, advancing impactful research, and promoting meaningful exchange between Kuwait and Australia.
