Thermal Multiscale Homogenization of Aluminum Honeycomb Structures Using Orthotropic Representative Volume Element and Finite Element Method Seminar

About this Topic

This seminar will focus on the use of mathematical homogenization to analyze the properties of an aluminum honeycomb panel. It employs the representative volume element (RVE) concept, considers orthotropy, and uses finite element analysis (FEM) for numerical solutions. The model is validated through numerical tests, showing strong correlations with the actual structure, even under varying conditions. It also explores thickness-dependent heat resistance and natural vibration behavior. This approach efficiently assesses large honeycomb structures' thermal performance while minimizing computational time.
