AU Successfully Holds Cultural Day Event

AU successfully held its Cultural Day event for the Fall semester of 2021/2022, where School of Business students came together to set up booths representing different countries.

Every semester, the School of Business students taking the Event Management course come together to organize an event in order to practically apply their management skills while giving the students, staff and faculty at AU an enjoyable event to attend that also expands their insights on different subjects. This semester’s event was the AU Cultural Day where students hosted various booths on campus representing different countries from various continents including Middle Eastern, European, Asian and African countries. The event was organized by the students under the supervision of School of Business faculty members Ms. Aleksandra Jovanovic, AU Management Instructor, and Ms. Fatima AlLougman, AU Marketing Instructor, along with help from the Student Life department.

The booths gave visitors an insight into different cultures as the students educated them about the customs and traditions of the countries they represented, and there was authentic foods, games and music from each country to make the cultural experience holistic.

AU believes in the importance of practical education and hands-on learning for students to transfer the skills they learn in the classroom into real world experience that can help advance graduates’ careers and prepare them for the job market.
