Information Technology

The Information Technology (IT) department is dedicated to aligning its services with the aims of Australian University in order to provide quality IT services. IT services at AU is in charge of the planning, management, and direction of technology initiatives in support of the university’s academic and administrative operations.

The IT department offers a wide range of technology services to the campus community, such as the development, monitoring, and maintenance of the campus network, phone system, computer systems and servers, computer laboratories, smart classrooms, and other online services.

The IT department is dedicated to developing new services based on cutting-edge technologies, while also guaranteeing that staff and students have access to secure and dependable services.

Learning Management System

The IT department manages and supports the Moodle Learning System, which is used for online and on-campus course management. The technology gives students access to course materials and communication tools 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Course sites are automatically created in Moodle based on course information from our Student Information System and made available on the first day of classes.

Microsoft 365

IT Services also offers free access to Microsoft 365 to all AU students, which includes Microsoft Teams, OneDrive with 1TB of secure storage, and the Office Pro Plus suite of applications. AU students can access Microsoft 365 online at any time by logging onto Office.com. Students can even install the desktop versions of the Microsoft 365 applications on up to five different devices.

Student Information System

The IT department maintains and supports AU’s Student Information System (SIS) where all student related processes are automated from admissions to graduation.

User Support Services

Manage and operate the ‘IT Service Desk’ to provide first line support for application and desktop users. Support is available online, by phone, or in person.

PCs on Campus

Improves and foster student education, AU provides PCs throughout campus in labs, classrooms, and the library.

Classroom Technology

AU IT support assists with classroom equipment and hardware, including troubleshooting, equipment check-out, and training.

Campus Network

AU provides wireless connectivity throughout the university, to all faculty members, students, staff and guests. Staff and students have access to “MyWifi,” while visitors can access “AU Guest WiFi” or “AU Free WiFi.”

Security Awareness/Data Protection

Enforced guidelines & regulations on security, antivirus, network & web usage, password policy, and network solutions to protect staff, students, and the institution from internal & external threats. To keep the campus safe, AU undertake a bi-annual security audit.

Central File Storage

AU’s Central File Storage service provides high-performance, easily accessible file storage services for groups and individual employees over the cloud.

Working Remotely

AU allows you to work from home by employing a secured enhanced VPN connection. This service is available for all the staff and students of the university.
